What You'll Do/Need

The role of the Space Planner is to plan and execute team moves, project team growth, provide seating and space options for review by teams and senior leadership. The Focus Space Planning team must be great communicators, tactful diplomats, problem solvers, thinkers and analyzers, and possess the ability to understand and respond to clients’ needs in a rapidly changing business environment.



  • Space plan and master plan for moves, seating additions and changes in all locations
  • Develop and interpret policies and procedures for space requests and utilization
  • Assign or classify space according to pertinent standards or procedures
  • Gather programming information related to space requirements, adjacencies, or move requirements
  • Work with Facilities in the coordination of various facilities projects, including synchronizing the timing and construction of offices, the distribution and installation of furniture, the observation of work in progress and the relocation of team members for any given project
  • Develop move plans
  • Coordinate with clients and team members to determine basic space needs including furniture requirements, bill of materials and furniture product availability
  • Analyze impact of new construction, renovation and various remodeling on space planning
  • Identify and resolve facility utilization concerns between teams
  • Conduct building audits to verify that team member locations, furniture layout and room configurations are correctly noted on floor plans
  • Verify all site as-built drawings are up to date, including architectural, furniture and occupancy data
  • Create site space utilization reports weekly, monthly and quarterly as determined



  • One year of project management experience as it relates to space planning and vendor management
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, Adobe Pro and AutoCAD (certified preferred)
  • Ability to interpret and make corrections to schematics/blueprints/drawings
  • Knowledge of minor tenant improvement construction processes, plans and related applications, including documentation for compliance
  • Solid customer service acumen and interpersonal relationship skills
